yes, is. take screenshot of desired character, cut part want , save image (.ico).

seriously now, may want check formats supported each browser: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/favicon#file_format_support

if characters image or vector files, you'll ok browsers ie (because ms hates you). otherwise, well, you'll have save them images first.
